I'm kind of a perfectionist. A problem because I'd like to see, or should I say "expect" perfection from those in service industries. And perfection, as we all know doesn't exist. I don't delegate well....but I'm working on it. When beginning new tasks lately, I'm trying to remember to answer the question...Is this the highest and best use of my time? If the answer is no, I'm trying to delegate it. Sometimes I'm successful, sometimes not. Again, working on it.
I'm also a multi tasker, which comes with it's own set of problems. For instance, I have about 7 books on my night stand that I'm reading at once, a little each night in which ever I'm in the mood for. I also always listen to a book on CD in the car or a continuing education CD in the car on the way to work and on the way home. That's about 40 minutes each way of time that would otherwise just be WASTED! Occaisionally I'll listen to a little XM radio or talk radio when I'm burnt out on the books. Oddly enough, I don't often get burnt out. I'm an avid learner. I believe you can learn something from everyone. I'm also a voracious sponge when it comes to new information. I do tend to find myself working on a million projects at once...which again comes with it's own set of problems...but I tend to get a lot accomplished.
I'm strong, independent, and fiercely loyal to friends and loved ones. I think the "strong and independent" parts turn some people off, and threaten others. I have a High "D" personality. A driver. I'm sure it must make some people nuts because other "driver" personalities make me nuts! As a matter of fact, if they're not someone I really respect or admire, I don't tend to enjoy being in their company.
I am very interested in health, I LOVE all aspects of marketing, do speaking and consulting within my industry, and have totally been enjoying real estate investing for the past few years. I also love helping people. It just makes me feel good inside. I try to perform at least one random act of kindness daily, and believe that the world would be a much better place if everyone would just commit to doing this. Just one random act of kindess per person per day. Imagine the powerful, wide reaching impact that would have on the whole world!
I really hate the winter and being cold! I actually start feeling blue in September....knowing what's coming. I'd like to learn to appreciate the fall and winter. If it were only a shorter season here in the Northeast. I will ultimately live where palm trees grow naturally...if for only 6 months out of the year! I want to have to travel in order to see snow because to me, anything under 70 degrees is just uncivilized!
I'm not very religious, but more spiritual. I'm really turned off by bigotry, prejudice, and arrogance. I'm a hopeless optimist, a little bit of a clean freak, and I appreciate quaility in people and in things. I would rather do without something and save for a "quality" item than have immediate gratification settling for something of lesser quaility.
I love watches and clocks, especially Swiss and German made. Some are like beautiful works of art. My watch fettish is beginning to develop into a nice collection! :-)
I'm really looking forward to connecting with other "hubbers" out there with similar interests, and sharing great information together. I'm hoping that we can create our own little "mastermind" community!
I'm very goal oriented, and it has taken me over 40 years to finally realize that my most precious asset is my time. It truly is finite, and I'd like to make the most of what time I have. Now I'm happy to be sharing it with you!
